We're now in warm, sunny Yuma, AZ. Went to the dentist in Mexico yesterday- Gary got a root canal & forms made for his six (6) crowns. What a day! We go back Friday to have them finish the job. They seem to do a great job over there, Gary had a root canal last year & all was well. You wouldn't believe the amount of Americans there getting work done.

Our fellow RV'ers from Ohio, Jack & Jerri, are here. We'll be meeting them on Saturday in Mexico for the 'Winter Visitor welcome Party' - LOTS of free beer & food. Should be LOTS of fun.

We spent the last 2 weeks in Casa Grande. Our rv'ing friends Larry & Cindy have a beautiful home there. Gary spent his time assisting Larry with his 'honey do' list. They still works at the RV park part-time, so I spent my time helping out there. We had some free time, so went to see the Casa Grande Ruins, so check out our Picasa photos. (Oops - having trouble uploading pics -will try again tomorrow)

We have left Pie Town and are in AZ. Will add pics soon. Weather is wonderful.
We have a new buddy for Otis & Gary. This little guy has moved into our new porch. We're hoping he stays for the Winter and eats all our spiders!!

Work in Progress

I've been working on a way to allow you to view more of our photos. I've added links to both our Webshot & Picasa photo albums. I realize there are some duplicate pictures and will try to work on that. We would really love comments from viewers on which (Picasa or Webshots) you enjoy the most and works the best. Depending on your input, eventually I may eliminate one. I have lots more to add to the albums and will work on that too. For now, enjoy looking around.

October 11

We spent three days visiting friends in Albuquerque. Abran & Esperanza were kind enough to be our tour guides for the annual Balloon Fiesta. What an event!! Any size and shape balloon you could think of. We had a blast & look forward to next time.

Well, hunting season is upon us - of course we do all of our hunting with a camera. As the season progresses, more and more elk move into our area. They sure are beautiful, one of our reasons for being here. It's said that Catron county, the largest in New Mexico, has 3000 people and 10,000 elk. Another fact of interest - there aren't any (yes, that's right -zero) traffic lights in the county. Now that's a great reason to be here!!

Tinkerbell, our foster dog, has went back to the shelter. She's come such a long way, she should be adopted soon. Now we have to find another playmate for Otis. Of course, for those of you who know Otis, he doesn't play a whole lot. He's really lazy!!

Spent a day at the Zuni Pueblo this week. The Zuni is the largest of New Mexico's nineteen Pueblos. The Zuni are known for their inlay work, stone fetish carvings and pottery making. Never get tired of the Indian artists' work. And, if you've never had fresh bread baked in the traditional wood fired oven, don't know what you're missing! Can't wait to go back next month. Should have pictures next time.

September 2008

Well, we decided it might be easier for our family & friends to keep up with us if we started a blog - so here it is!

We've been busy here in Pie Town. Had the Pie Town Festival last weekend and a benefit dance/auction this past weekend for the local animal shelter.

Cathy has been volunteering at the shelter 2 days a week, the official dog walker! We're fostering a dog, trying to get her ready for a good home. She's a deaf red heeler so we've all been learning sign language together. Tinkerbell & Otis have become good buddies.

Gary has been busy putting a porch onto our building & helping the neighbors construct their adobe buildings.
