Well, hunting season is upon us - of course we do all of our hunting with a camera. As the season progresses, more and more elk move into our area. They sure are beautiful, one of our reasons for being here. It's said that Catron county, the largest in New Mexico, has 3000 people and 10,000 elk. Another fact of interest - there aren't any (yes, that's right -zero) traffic lights in the county. Now that's a great reason to be here!!
Tinkerbell, our foster dog, has went back to the shelter. She's come such a long way, she should be adopted soon. Now we have to find another playmate for Otis. Of course, for those of you who know Otis, he doesn't play a whole lot. He's really lazy!!
Spent a day at the Zuni Pueblo this week. The Zuni is the largest of New Mexico's nineteen Pueblos. The Zuni are known for their inlay work, stone fetish carvings and pottery making. Never get tired of the Indian artists' work. And, if you've never had fresh bread baked in the traditional wood fired oven, don't know what you're missing! Can't wait to go back next month. Should have pictures next time.
